Bleach Episode 133 Summary

Keigo’s sister Mizuho arrives at the kendo club to find its members all beat up after having been attacked the previous night by a rival school’s club. The goal of the rival club was to get them to pull out of the upcoming district tournament, and Karakura High School’s club is ready to do just that if not for Mizuho stopping them. She brings in Ikkaku to train the five first-years who didn’t get hurt, and to Keigo’s surprise, Ikkaku agrees to do it. He thus begins the freshmen on a training regiment from hell, and by the end of it, only one of them - a boy named Shinji - still has the spirit to spar with Ikkaku. Seeing him work so hard at this, Keigo asks Ikkaku why he’s doing it, and Ikkaku replies that it’s fun, but he also admits that it’s been a while since he’s seen eyes that desperately want to become stronger like Shinji has. The next day, Ikkaku finds the other four freshmen too injured to continue, and since Mizuho refuses to pull out of the competition, Ikkaku decides to go ask the other Shinigami to help. Unfortunately, both Rangiku and Yumichika turn him down because the kendo gear stinks too badly for them to wear.

Ikkaku eventually coerces Hitsugaya to help and gets Urahara to send Renji, but they’re still short one person even with Shinji included. They have no choice but to use the completely inexperienced Keigo, though Ikkaku isn’t worried because only three of them have to win out of five matches total. During the actual tournament, Hitsugaya easily wins the first round and Keigo loses the second round as expected. Before Renji’s match, he senses a Hollow, so he quickly gets the second win before heading off. The other Shinigami have to go too, leaving just Shinji behind as the fourth fighter. Ikkaku knows that he’ll win even if Shinji loses, but he feels that the person who wants to win the most is Shinji, so he urges him to go become a man. He then fights and defeat a Menos Grande with the others, and afterwards, Ikkaku rushes back to the competition. He arrives in time to see Shinji win, but Ikkaku still wants his own chance to fight in the competition, so he beats up the entire opposing team, including their leader that Mizuho has a grudge against for dumping her.

Bleach Episode132 Summary

Because she’s so concerned about her brother, Karin one day accidentally kicks her soccer ball too hard and causes it to fall towards the nearby road. Luckily, a stranger - Hitsugaya - stops it before it enters the intersection and returns it to her. However, he then disappears. Karin is on her way to practice soccer with her friends, but when she gets there, she finds that the junior high school students are unwilling to give up the field. She ends up arguing with the older kids through the afternoon until one of them finally suggests that they settle it with a soccer match the following Saturday. Her friends don’t think that they can win and suggest getting Ichigo to help, but she tells them that he’s on a trip. On the way home, they run into Hitsugaya again, and, after trying to get to know him, Karin asks him to help them with the game. When Hitsugaya starts to walk off, Karin kicks her ball at him, and he surprises them by returning it via a bicycle kick. The kids gather around him in amazement, but Hitsugaya soon gets a cell phone notification of a Hollow, and he notices that Karin seems to sense something too. Since he’s the closest one, he runs off to fight it.

Karin goes searching for Hitsugaya again the next day and finds him in the same spot again. In an attempt to talk with him, she asks why he comes here, so Hitsugaya explains that this spot is the best place to view the sky - it brings back memories of the time he spent with Hinamori in his childhood. Hitsugaya then gets another cell phone notification of a Hollow and when he attempts to rush off again, Karin stops him because she senses something bad again. Fortunately, one of the other Shinigami soon defeats the Hollow, making it unnecessary for him to go. Karin then tries to get him to come practice with her friends, but Hitsugaya doesn’t give her a straight answer. He does end up coming to watch Karin and her friends practice, but he leaves when Matsumoto shows up and starts teasing him about having an interest in Karin. Hitsugaya doesn’t show up when the day of the match arrives, leaving Karin and her friends to play the junior high school kids by themselves. To make matters worse, in the opening play, one of the older kids injures Karin’s leg and rendering her ineffective, further crippling the team. The junior high team quickly goes up four goals to Karin’s team’s none, but then Hitsugaya finally shows up.

With Hitsugaya’s skills, the team is quickly able to even the score, and he even lets Karin kick the goal that wins it. Afterwards, he wants to talk with her about something, but he never gets around to it because a Hollow suddenly appears. Karin is surprised that Hitsugaya can see the Hollow, but she’s also unwilling to run away because of her friends there who are now unconscious. When she kicks a soccer ball at its face, the Hollow responds by trying to smash her with its fist. Acting quickly, Hitsugaya brings out his Shinigami form and saves her. He proceeds to use his ice powers to defeat the monster and manages to slice it in half before it can use its cero blast. Once the battle is over, Karin asks him if he knows where Ichigo is since she just saw that Hitsugaya is a Shinigami too. He’s shocked to find out that she’s Ichigo’s little sister, but he admits to not knowing of Ichigo’s whereabouts. Still, he does say that Ichigo is becoming stronger, just like she is, and he tells her not to worry. Karin then gets to meet Matsumoto, and she’s impressed that Hitsugaya has a vice-captain even though he’s a grade-schooler. This of course gets him really mad because, despite how he looks, he’s not actually in elementary school.

Bleach Episode 131 Summary

Despite Yui telling him to run away, Shouta still rushes to her side and is shocked to see the real form of the pseudo-Arrancar appear behind her. Yui pushes Shouta out of the way right before the pseudo-Arrancar tries to crush him, but Shouta still says that he doesn’t want to abandon her again. However, Yui then gets turned back into one of the pseudo-Arrancar’s minions and gets sucked up by its true form. When Rangiku tries to fight it, she manages to get in a few hits, but it then sends its minions after Shouta, distracting her long enough for the pseudo-Arrancar to go on the offensive. Fortunately Hitsugaya also enters the battle by freezing the minions and using his ice dragon on it. Faced against a captain now, the pseudo-Arrancar claims that destroying him will cause Yui to disappear too, and although Hitsugaya isn’t affected by the threat, Shouta is. Shouta’s attempt to stop Hitsugaya gives the pseudo-Arrancar the opportunity to escape into another dimension. While it is gone, the pseudo-Arrancar’s minions fill the skies and get sent out in every direction to consume more souls.

Upon contacting Soul Society for information about the location of their enemy, Hitsugaya learns from the Technological Development Bureau that the transmission source of the sound the pseudo-Arrancar uses to control souls can be determined based on the way its minions are distributed around the city. While they are trying to find it, Rangiku meanwhile explains to Shouta how the Shinigami are trying to save Hollows as well as souls. She feels that although they couldn’t protect Yui, they can still save her soul, and she wants to work together with Shouta to do it. The Technological Development Bureau eventually discovers that the pseudo-Arrancar is hiding in the area by the river behind a special barrier, so they need to destroy that barrier. Hitsugaya initiates ban kai to do this, but he doesn’t succeed until Shouta calls out to Yui and the flute sound suddenly starts up. Shouta can tell where the sound is coming from and helps Hitsugaya direct his attack there, revealing the pseudo-Arrancar. Despite transforming, the pseudo-Arrancar cannot beat Hitsugaya, though it is actually Shouta and Rangiku together who finish the pseudo-Arrancar off.

In the aftermath, Shouta digs up the flute from the ground where the pseudo-Arrancar disappeared and feels that Yui definitely made it to Soul Society. He’s ready to go after her, so Rangiku sends him off after one last hug.

Bleach Episode 130 Summary

Continuing his explanation, Shouta reveals that on the day of the accident, he and Yui were separated from their parents. They couldn’t find them no matter how much they looked, and on one particular night, Shouta woke up in the park to find that Yui was gone. Her scream eventually led him to her, but upon discovering his being threatened by the pseudo-Arrancar, Shouta ran away in fear instead of saving his sister. Regretting it later, Shouta returned to the park and encountered the pseudo-Arrancar again, and that’s when Rangiku had gotten involved. With Shouta now crying because of what he did, Rangiku comforts him by reminding him that Yui survived and by saying that it’s not too late for him to protect Yui now. However, Rangiku also knows that if Shouta’s story is true, then Yui encountered the pseudo-Arrancar. She then gets a phone call from Hitsugaya who had lost sight of the pseudo-Arrancar he was chasing. Hitsugaya is still with the soul that he had run into earlier, and this soul surprises him by suddenly transforming into the pseudo-Arrancar and attacking. Hitsugaya easily manages to cut off one of its legs, so the pseudo-Arrancar transforms back into the human disguise and runs away.

Back at their apartment, Rangiku tells Hitsugaya of how Yui was probably the first to have encountered the pseudo-Arrancar, but they don’t know how she survived, and Yui doesn’t remember anything. Hitsugaya, however, is more concerned about how the pseudo-Arrancar can disguise itself as a human soul. This makes Rangiku suspect Yui, so Hitsugaya goes ahead with an attempt to send her off to Soul Society. When he isn’t able to do so with the hilt of his sword, he confirms his suspicions that the pseudo-Arrancar must have done something to her. Hitsugaya then contact Soul Society so that they can do an analysis of Yui’s spiritual pressure, but until the analysis results come back, he places her behind a force field. Shouta objects to this, so Rangiku tries to explain that it’s to protect her from the pseudo-Arrancar. Since Yui is still afraid, Rangiku decides to give her the whistle item she bought at the shop earlier. With Yui now cooperating, Hitsugaya sends Yumichika to Urahara’s to tell Renji about what’s going on and leaves the children in the care of Rangiku again.

The next day, Shouta recalls how he and Yui had searched for their parents without any luck. When Yui wakes up from her sleep, she says she wants to go outside and wants to see their parents. To Shouta’s surprise, Yui claims that with his power, she can leave the force field, and she gets him hold his hand out to match hers on the other side. The force field disappears as a result, and Rangiku returns later from the convenience store to find them both gone. Before she and Hitsugaya can go look for the two, they get a transmission from Soul Society with the results, so Hitsugaya sends Rangiku ahead to look while he listens to the analysis. According to the findings, Yui is actually a clone created by the pseudo-Arrancar. She had been a human with strong, latent spiritual powers, and when the pseudo-Arrancar absorbed her soul, it gained tremendous power that allowed it to multiply. Akon thinks that there’s a high probability that she’s being controlled by the pseudo-Arrancar and her outward appearance is just acting. As for Shouta, Akon admits the possibility of him having an equally high spiritual power, making Hitsugaya realize that the enemy used Shouta to get out of the barrier and its target is Shouta’s power.

Unaware of what Hitsugaya just learned, Rangiku finds the two kids in the park, but Yui tells her not to interfere. Yui then starts emitting a great spiritual pressure that brings forth many of the pseudo-Arrancar. She motions her brother to her, and when Rangiku tries to stop him, Yui uses her power to pull him in. Rangiku can’t help because the pseudo-Arrancar are keeping her busy, and it is ultimately Shouta crying out Yui’s name that seems to knock her out of the trance. In pain, Yui now tells her brother not to come.

Bleach Episode 129 Summary

Rangiku allows Shouta to come with her to track down the flute noise, and the two arrive in time to see a businessman’s soul get eaten by the Arrancar. It seems to grow in power after eating the soul, and when Shouta starts throwing rocks at it, it fires a blast at him. Shouta fortunately is caught by Hitsugaya, and the captain helps Matsumoto attempt to capture their enemy. However, the Arrancar starts laughing evilly, and soon, more of it appear in front of them. In fact, there is a small army of them that all look the same, each with the power to divide into two. With Ikkaku and Yumichika also fighting more of these Arrancar across town, Hitsugaya orders all of them destroyed and tells Rangiku to head to an open area. Rangiku thus takes Shouta to the park and get surrounded, allowing Hitsugaya to then jump in to destroy all the Arrancar in one large ice attack. Afterwards, Shouta notices a girl sitting on a nearby park bench and recognizes her as his younger sister Yui.

Once they bring Yui back to their apartment, Shouta finally explains that she had been with him - blowing a flute - when his family was headed to the amusement park one day. They had gotten into an accident, and Shouta woke up with the chain attached to his chest and his parents gone. Yui had been the one he was searching for, and he’s very happy when she wakes up and recognizes him. Hitsugaya finds it strange that Yui would just appear suddenly in the park and questions Shouta, but before he can answer, their conversation gets interrupted by a transmission from Ukitake and Akon from the Technological Development Bureau. Akon explains that the spiritual pressure of all those Arrancar matched, meaning that each of those Arrancar are part of one and share the same consciousness. The multiple bodies allow the Arrancar to absorb more souls while its main body can remain hidden and issue orders. Before cutting off the transmission, Akon promises to look more into the flute sound that they’re hearing before the attacks.

While the others go out to keep watch over the town, Rangiku stays behind to keep an eye on Shouta and Yui. Later that night, she finds Shouta looking depressed despite being reunited with his sister and suspects that he’s still hiding something. Shouta thinks that it’s none of her business, and the two suddenly hear a noise from the other room. They find that Yui has disappeared, and all around town, the flute noise and Arrancar have appeared again. In chasing one of the Arrancar, Hitsugaya comes across a soul that seems too scared to talk to him, but that soul smiles evilly after the captain leaves. With Matsumoto following close behind, Shouta heads directly to the park to look for his sister. She is indeed there, sitting almost lifelessly on a swing set, and when Shouta questions her, she tells him that she just wanted to come to the park. Yui seems happy that Shouta came and says that she’s not scared since he’s here. However, this gets Shouta frustrated because he knows that he originally ran away and abandoned her here at the park.

Bleach Episode 128 Summary

Ichigo is still in training with Hiyori, but up to now he’s only increased the amount of time he can keep on the mask by half a second. At home, because Yuzu is almost in tears over how Ichigo hasn’t come home, Isshin suggests that it’s just Ichigo rebelling from his surroundings. Isshin recalls a similar experience in his own adolescence and feels that Ichigo is currently out somewhere satisfying his heart’s desires. Karin is also confident that Ichigo is fine, so Yuzu calms down. Hitsugaya, Rangiku, Ikkaku, and Yumichika are meanwhile at the park discussing how they have to get stronger for the upcoming battle when Rangiku realizes that it’s time for her to go shopping. She ends up trying on and buying lots of outfits, and then checks out an accessories store after the clothing store. There, she finds a necklace with a flute-type object attached to it, but when she blows on it, she starts to hear another sound - one that reverberates through the city. Her cell phone informs her of a Hollow in town, and since she’s closest to it out of all the Shinigami, she decides to go investigate.

The sound eventually stops when Rangiku arrives at the park, but the ground suddenly starts exploding in front of her. A boy gets tossed from the smoke, and Rangiku quickly realizes that he’s a soul. This boy seems to be fighting a large Hollow, so Rangiku attacks it to protect him. It manages to catch her zanpaktou swing in its mouth, and it is at this point that Rangiku realizes that she’s actually fighting something similar to an Arrancar except that its spiritual pressure is murky. The Arrancar doesn’t seem to care about her as much as it wants the boy, so Rangiku decides to take the boy to safety. Fortunately, Ikkaku then arrives and quickly destroys the enemy. Yumichika and Hitsugaya also show up because of how the Hollow’s spiritual pressure pattern had suddenly changed. They figure out that Rangiku was fighting an incomplete Arrancar - but still an Arrancar - and Hitsugaya thinks that Aizen must have intentionally sent it. As for the boy, he manages to piss off each of the Shinigami by addressing them as old or bald (in Ikkaku’s case), and he refuses to go to Soul Society because he claims to still have things to do.

Hitsugaya manages to ask the boy about hearing the sound and if the Arrancar said anything to him, but since they think that the boy can’t tell them anything and just happened to be in the right place, Hitsugaya decides to send the boy off to Soul Society. The boy still refuses to go, so Rangiku suggests that he might be confused about what happened earlier and allows him to stay with them for the night. However, in the middle of the night, the boy sneaks out with Matsumoto’s zanpaktou. He doesn’t get very far before he’s caught by her again, and she gets back what is hers. When she questions why he took it, he tells her that it has nothing to do with them, so she makes him realize that it does have to do with them and gets him to apologize. However, the boy still doesn’t saying anything when she asks him about his name, family, or why he was at that place. He finally admits that he’s looking for someone and that his name is Toyokawa Shouta, but right after he says this, the sound starts up again. Across the city, the Arrancar is back, and Rangiku can sense his spiritual pressure.

Bleach Episode 127 Summary

Rangiku arrives at Keigo’s home to find Ikkaku wearing a very uncharacteristic shirt that he’s putting up with because he’s getting free room and board. She’s here to tell them about the key, but first she has to handle Keigo coming after her. Over at Urahara’s, Yoruichi brings Inoue to the training area where Sado and Renji are fighting. Having been informed about the key by Rangiku already, Urahara thinks that there will be many casualties when the time comes, and so they’ll need more fighters than ever before. Inoue wants to get stronger too, but to her surprise, Urahara asks her to stay out of this. He cites one of the reasons to be Tsubaki, her offensive ability fairy that got completely destroyed by Yammy. Sado objects to this because Inoue fought with them when they were in Soul Society and because she has healing abilities, but Urahara thinks the Fourth Division would do a better job with that. When Urahara states that a soldiers who’s lost his power would just get in the way, Inoue excuses herself and runs out. She unexpectedly encounters Rukia on her way out and breaks down in tears. After listening to Inoue’s story, Rukia takes her side even though Inoue now seems resigned to the fact that she’s too weak. Rukia feels that it is unfair for Inoue to be excluded now, but Inoue sees the situation different.

Inoue knows that she’d be lonely if she were unable to fight with everyone, however she hates getting in people’s way even more, so she’s okay with being lonely. Rukia responds to this by saying that it’s not the people who don’t have strength that get in the way during a battle but rather those who lack determination. She feels that there must be something Inoue can do and proposes that they find out what together. Suddenly, their conversation is interrupted by Hiyori jumping between them and carrying Inoue off because Hachigen wanted to talk with her. Hiyori brings Inoue back to the Vizard training area where Hachigen introduces himself and examines her hairpin. He thinks its something similar to a zanpaktou and offers to heal it for her since they have similar types of abilities. True to his word, Hachigen makes Tsubaki appear again, and Inoue is overjoyed. However, Hachigen also suggests that Inoue not fight because their abilities aren’t fit for battle. Since Inoue still wants to fight despite everything, Hachigen advises her that what’s important is not how she should but rather how she wants to. With these words in mind, Inoue steps out of the warehouse and finds Rukia waiting for her. Rukia doesn’t require an explanation from Inoue because she can feel Ichigo’s spiritual pressure here and is content knowing that he’s safe. As she leaves with Rukia, Inoue thinks to herself that she’s going to move forward without looking back. When she meets Ichigo again, hopefully she’ll be able to fight without hiding behind him.

Meanwhile, in Hueco Mundo, Ulquiorra pays a visit to Yammy who is currently getting his arm reattached. Yammy isn’t happy with it, but Ulquiorra reminds him that at least they were able to bring it back and have it reattached unlike Grimmjow who got his completely destroyed. Grimmjow had been stripped of his Espada status as a result, but Yammy still retains his ranking as the number 10 Espada. To test out his arm, Yammy immediately smacks the Arrancar nurse who healed him into the nearby wall, and still he complains about it. Aizen meanwhile is watching video of Inoue from the previous battle with Ulquiorra and Yammy and finds her powers quite interesting.
